If you need to obtain your credit report but would prefer that you don’t input your credit information, there are a couple of options that you could try out.
www.annualcreditreport.com is the official site that is mandated with accessing your free credit report site. All Americans have the right to access their credit report from this site from the major credit bureaus, that is, TransUnion, Equifax and Experian. You may access each of the three credit reports once every 12 months at absolutely no cost.
At annualcreditreport.com, you will not be required to fill your credit card information in order to view your free annual credit report. In addition there are no trial memberships involved guaranteeing that the service is absolutely free.
This site is designed in a way that makes it easy and free for all US residents to easily view credit report online from all the three major credit bureaus.
The only information that you are required to enter, are your personal details that will confirm your identity to the system. Once you are through, you will be cleared to have a peak at all three different free credit reports at the same time or if you wish you could view them one at a time after a certain period of time.
It is recommended that you view credit report online once every four months. This way you will be able to easily monitor the data in your credit report.
The free annual credit report does not include a credit score. In case you would like to be included, you will need to pay a little bit extra for that. Charges vary from one credit agency to another, so you get to decide which service you want to use.
One thing that you need to note is that all three different credit bureaus use different algorithms which give a different score.
Once you view credit report online, and feel that you want to find out your score, then you will need to register on one of these agencies’ sites for a trial membership. This trial includes both a credit report and a credit score.
To successfully sign up for the trial your credit card information will be required. The good thing to note here is that your credit score will be absolutely free.
You will never incur any upfront fees once you sign up for this service. However, if you choose not to cancel your monthly subscription before the trial period is over, you will be charged a fee of $14.95. If later on change your mind about the service, all you need to do is call and cancel your subscription. You get the best end of the bargain though, as you still get to walk away with the free credit score.
There are a couple of other options when it comes to credit monitoring services that you can try online. However, none of these gives you the opportunity to view credit report online completely free.
